This Post-Gathering tour is for registrants of the IKAA Gathering 2010 and their spouse/partners and families – North Americans, Europeans, Scandinavians, Australians, all are welcome. This tour is planned and led by Tim Holm, IKAA President and adoptee (although this tour is separate from IKAA). Tim and his wife have been leading tour groups to Korea since 1993, and have been providing high quality tours at affordable prices for 18 years! Join us for some fun in the sun at a great price!
This tour leaves on Monday August 9th at 10 AM from the Lotte Hotel in Seoul. You will return to Seoul on Sunday afternoon August 15th. We can accommodate those flying out of Korea on Sunday, although if you need a room reservation for Sunday or longer, The Lotte Hotel will still honor the IKAA Gathering special room rate. The tour includes 6 nights hotel stay in 1st class hotels (double occupancy – your choice or we can match you up), all bus and air transportation within Korea, including flights to and from Jeju Island, adoptee-led guided tours of Gyeong-ju and Jeju Island, both including lunch, transportation and entry fees, and free time to explore on your own or with friends.
We will bus to Gyeong-ju, the ancient city and capital of the Shilla Dynasty on Monday morning (not too early because you won’t want to cut short your Sunday night festivities to close out the Gathering!), where we stay at a wonderful hotel that is close to the Bulguksa Temple – a garden wonderland and perfect place to wind down from the whirlwind that is the IKAA Gathering 2010. On Tuesday you will go on an adoptee-led tour of the ancient sites, some of which are thousands of years old. On Wednesday we will head to Busan’s Haeundae Beach, one of the premier white-sand beaches in the world, for some sun and relaxation! Thursday we will fly to Jeju Island where you will stay at a hotel overlooking the ocean and in the heart of the lively boardwalk of Jeju City. On Friday we will take you on a guided tour of the Island, where you will see wonderful waterfalls, the famous diving ladies of Jeju, and spend some time swimming or wading in an amazing warm ocean lagoon. Saturday is a free day to explore, swim, shop or just spend time with new friends. On Sunday around mid-day we will fly back to Seoul. Those that may be flying home that day can catch early morning flights – we are happy to try and accommodate your schedule. Let us know!
You pay for the tour package and most of your own meals – food in Korea is inexpensive (at least if you don’t eat in the hotels), and most people can eat for $20 per day – and we provide two of your lunches! Shopping or going out is at your discretion. Everything else is covered!
