OVERVIEW
The IKAA Business Seminar will take place on Friday, August 6, 2010 at the Lotte Hotel in Seoul as part of the IKAA Gathering. This is a new and innovative addition to the program of the IKAA Gathering 2010.
The IKAA Business Seminar will be a unique opportunity for Korean nationals and Korean adoptees to make lasting and meaningful professional, as well as personal, connections. Individual adoptees will be able to network with and market their skills to Korean nationals and Korean companies. Korean nationals and Korean companies will have the opportunity for massive international exposure and experience with foreign professionals. The cross-national connections made during the IKAA Business Seminar will help foster future business development and recruiting among all of the participants.
BUSINESS SEMINAR PURPOSE
The purpose of the Business Seminar is to provide an amazing opportunity for individual adoptees to market their skills to Korean nationals and Korean companies and to emphasize to Korean nationals that adoptees can bring a lot to the table professionally. Korean nationals and Korean companies will have the opportunity for massive international exposure and experience with foreign professionals. The Business Seminar is meant to encourage professional growth for all participants and result in meaningful personal and business development.
KOTRA
IKAA is delighted to announce that the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) has agreed to participate in the IKAA Business Seminar. As part of the Business Seminar, KOTRA will be helping to facilitate placement of interested adoptees with Korean companies. KOTRA will match interested adoptees with potential employers, subject to the availability and interest of the employers. Selected adoptee candidates will be invited to participate in online job interviews in advance of the IKAA Business Seminar. Selected candidates who pass their online interviews will be invited for in-person interviews that will take place during the IKAA Business Seminar.
KOTRA's international job finding program includes candidates from all professions, however some profiles are currently in higher demand than others: e.g. engineers, biotech project managers and researchers, green tech, IT and life sciences, and sales professionals with international experience.
KOTRA encourages interested candidates from all professions to register for the job finding program. In the coming years, several international events will be taking place in Korea, including the G20 Meeting in November 2010, the World Expo 2012 in Yeosu, and the World Energy Congress 2013 in Daegu.
